Ordinance
1. Slacklining shall only be allowed at the following parks and with proper tree protection:
A. Trigo Pasado Park
B. Window to the Sea Park
C. Little Acorn Park
D. Tierra De Fortuna Park
2. Trees may be used as anchor points for lines, but must be protected from damage. Anchor point trees shall meet the following conditions:
A. Trees must be a minimum of 10 inches in diameter at the tie-off point.
B. Conifers and evergreen trees shall not be used as anchor points.
C. Tree protection standards:
i. Adequate protection of tree trunk shall be provided between the trunk and lines.
ii. Use of blankets, carpet or cardboard is suggested to protect tree trunk from damage.
iii. Tree protection must wrap all the way around the tree.
iv. Additionally, tree protection must not be attached to the anchor.
D. Lines shall be tied around trees, not screwed into them.
E. No branches shall be cut or broken or tied to facilitate location of lines.
3. Location of lines shall meet the following conditions
A. Lines shall not be attached more than 6 feet above ground level
B. Lines shall not block walkways, sidewalks or paths
C. Lines shall not be attached to any playground equipment, signs, bollards or any other structure within a park without prior approval from the Isla Vista Recreation and Park District General Manager or designee.
D. Lines shall not be left unattended
E. All lines must be removed at sundown
